I was part of a collaborative team that developed the concept lighting for the UQ Amphitheatre, situated beside the picturesque UQ lake. The Dr Mary Mahoney AO Amphitheatre serves as a flexible venue for a wide range of staff, student, and community events. The project was part of Penfold Projects’ initiative to create vibrant landscapes around the UQ Lake Amphitheatre, incorporating native plants and sustainable materials.

Our goal was to design an inviting outdoor space that encourages social interaction and fosters a connection with nature, contributing to the broader mission of restoring the UQ lake and its surroundings into a self-sustaining ecosystem. The enhancements made around the amphitheatre now include improved access and visual appeal, reinforcing the area’s role as a vital, engaging community space that will serve generations to come.
